Intro to Electrical Engineering 1305

The Introduction to Electrical and Computer Engineering course (EE1305/EE1105) will teach students how to use passive and active electronic components to build and design circuits for a variety of miscellaneous sensor applications. First-Year-Engineering-Students will begin to build their foundation of Electrical Engineering concepts and circuit analysis as they are guided through hands on activities that help them Observe, Visualize, Measure, Understand, and Analyze signals from real-time data collection. The course will emphasize and/or provide (1) mathematical and systems concepts that form the basis for electrical engineering, (2) an introduction to circuit components, voltage and current concepts, and (3) sinusoidal signal characteristics, basic filter responses and bandwidth concepts.

Students will work with the following types of sensors:

  • Temperature Sensor
  • Humidity Sensor
  • EKG Sensor
  • Pulse Oximeter Sensor
  • Blood Pressure Sensor
  • Ultrasonic Sensor
